New Project: Explosively pumped flux compression generator
So we need a cool innovative project to start working on. Sam discovered the EPFCG while looking into EMP weapons. There is generally little information about it on the web, and I have thus far been unable to find any DIY iterations which makes this project harder, but only more awesome if we can pull it off.
Preliminary idea is to use the explosive force to inject a projectile into a railgun which will be powered by the EPFCG. The first difficult part will be finding suitable explosive, preferably something legal.. Provided we can get the EPFCG down, the railgun isn’t going to be easy and timing the pulse and injection will be similarly difficult (if not moreso).

Railgun update
Never got around to posting this stuff, from the fall last year. Additional caps added, and a safe discharge circuit too, it was about time we got that in there...
This was a misfire, but still looks cool... The alum foil projectile welded to the rails at entry. Some of the epoxy in the entry section of the rails flaked off or was damaged in the previous shot.
