Solid Rocket Fuel

We began looking for a cheaper alternative to store bought rocket fuel a short while back. Research on various project pages of DIY rocketeers led us to quickly decided that saltpeter (KNO3) and Sugar or "rocket candy," as we affectionately call it, would be a good starting place. Information on those same sites also showed us a great place to get KNO3, common (or not so, as we discovered while questing for it locally) stump remover, in which it acts as a fertilizer basically for microorganisms that break down the stump. This stuff is often 99% KNO3 or greater, and its cheap, so after ordering some from an online garden center, we got to work.
